What is Speargun Simulator?

Speargun Simulator is a software that predicts key speargun performances. It is based on several years of pool tests, analyses and calculations mostly with Teak Sea spearguns.

But it works with any rubber band speargun.

The calculation models developed are highly reliable because they are based on measurements made over a very wide range of configurations, ranging from single rubber band spearguns to much larger Blue Water models. They provide very realistic predictions of performance in the field and are even more accurate in comparing two spearguns or two set-ups, so this is why Speargun Simulator has been designed as a comparator.

Why Speargun Simulator?

As a manufacturer

  • Reply to customer requests related to set-up or speargun selection.
  • Allow an objective comparison with competing models.
  • Promote our know-how.

As a passionate scientist

  • Understand and quantify the physical phenomena relating to underwater spearguns ballistics.
  • Share research results with the community and generate constructive discussions.

How to use it?

  • Teak Sea spearguns are pre-programmed.
  • Duplicate your reference and modify it to compare.
  • For custom models enter your descriptive characteristics
  • Direct visual aid is provided for fields that require it.
  • A video tutorial is available on the site.
What does it calculate?

Speargun Simulator calculates:

  • Key quantities ("scalars") relating to range, accuracy and ergonomics
  • Tables depending on the distance, from 2 to 7 meters:
    • Real range for a wide spectrum of catches, from 1 to 40kg.
    • Shaft time to impact.
    • Risk of shaft drop due to gravity.

Speargun Simulator allows you to:

  • Estimate the real performance of your weapon.
  • Analyze your failures to find solutions.
  • Optimize your set-up: Length / diameter / number of bungee cords, shaft and tether selection by comparing a reference configuration to the new set-up.
  • Compare different spearguns before a purchase.
